What’s On Today

Weirdly there’s very little sport on TV today BUT it’s the ladies’ darts Captain & Vice-Captain Competition here at the Welly tonight.

Vegan Fizz

This week someone asked if any of our wine was vegan and we had no idea. So we went and checked with our suppliers and, while we’re still waiting for a few of them to get back to us, there’s something to celebrate for all of you doing Veganuary (and those who do it year-round too). All of our fizz at the Duke Of Wellington is vegan.

We currently stock Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, and Duval-Leroy NV Brut and Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial champagnes, which are all certified vegan. In fact Duval-Leroy became the first 100% vegan champagne house in 2015. Prosecco, champagnes and wines are also naturally gluten-free and wheat-free.

We’ll get back to you about the rest of our wine list as soon as we can.

Brighton Fringe 2018

Brighton Fringe is back at the Welly in May and it’s bigger and better than ever. We’re delighted to be partnering with Sweet Venues for the first time for this year’s Brighton Fringe programme. Sweet Venues have been curating amazing year-round offerings at the Dukebox Theatre (Southern Belle) since 2015, as well as numerous pop-up spaces during the Fringe.

You can look forward to at least one show every day in our small but perfectly formed upstairs venue, with some days featuring as many as six different performances.

Acts include Sam Savage, Cult of Comedy, Nick Elleray, Mike & Roy, Dave Chawner, Will Rowland, Christian Talbot, Pete Strong, Richard Todd, Heidi Regan, Sonia Aste, Oil Bettersworth, Francis Foster, David Mover, Fran day, Daphna Baram, Daniel Searle, Robyn Perkins, Juliet Myers, Sameena Zehra, Stella Graham, Rob Dumbrell, Maria Shehata, Yuriko Kotani, Graeme Collard, Jake Howie, Alex Martini, Rob Deb, Fiona Sagar, Francis Foster, David Thorpe, Mel Byron, Talbot & Holt, Sophie Duker, David McIver, Spring Day, and Rachel Sambrooks (who you might remember from Stand By Your Nan last year).

Full details to come but in the meantime, watch this space!

03 January 2018: We’re in The Stage, dahlings!

What’s On Today

Sunday, we are ready for you. It’s Southampton vs Spurs at 16:00.

We’re open 11:00 to 23.30 today, kitchen open 12:00-17:30.

If you’re looking for a Sunday roast, we’re sorry but we don’t do them as our kitchen is too small. We’re only geared up for pies! For a fantastic roast nearby, we wholeheartedly recommend our friends at either the Sussex Yeoman (01273 327 985) or the Caxton Arms (01273 387 346).
